Longfin Eel: Anguilla reinhardtii

The Australian Longfin Eel has a long and complex life history, living for up to 100 years.  The male can grow to 500g-1kg, whereas the female can attain a weight of up to 20kg, and a length of up to 3 meters.  The Longfin is the more tropical species, with a distribution from Northern Queensland, down to Northern Tasmania.

AAP can supply both wild caught and farmed longfin.

Wild Eel:

Shortfin Eel: Anguilla australis

The Australian Shortfin Eel is the smaller, more temperate species of Australian Eel, preferring cooler waters. The females of the species can attain a maximum size of around 3kg, males up to 800g.

Wild Eel:

• 600-1kg
• 1kg+

Elvers:

Prices available on request, catches are seasonal.

Smoked Eel:

Our smoke house is located in Statford Victoria.  Here the company East Coast Eels have been producing high quality traditionally smoked product for around 20 years.  Orders can be taken for both whole smoked and smoked eel fillets.

Fishing Bait:

A proven bait for shark fishing, our high quality de-slimed, vacuum packed bait portions are available on request.
